Jonas lives in a world where there is nothing bad. No wars, troubles, or pians. No one needs to make any choises what so ever, and everyone has a job in the community.
When Jonas turns twelve, he is chosen to receive special training from the Giver, a highly honored man who holds all the secret memories of the past and what it truly means to live. It is time for Jonas to know the truth of what has disappeared from their world, but there is no turning back
